Stony Rise Lodge is designed to capture sunrise and sunset and every view in between. The Lodge is modern, spacious chic and welcoming. Louvres let in sea breezes to keep us cool in summer and underfloor heating and an open fire keep us warm and cosy in winter.
We’re in the bush but we like tech. Lodge-supplied iPads are connected to the Krix sound system and smart TVs in the lounge and library with satellite Wi-Fi available throughout.
The Lodge has four spaces: sleeping, lounging, dining and the infinity lawn.
We take sleep seriously. The Lodge’s guest and library wing is acoustically separated from the social spaces. Each guest room has a generous ensuite and an outdoor lounge from which you can enjoy the beautiful bush landscape.
Feel cocooned by our luxurious quilts, pillows and mattress toppers made locally in Naracoorte by MiniJumbuck using Limestone Coast wool. The 100% cotton sateen bedlinen from Sheet Society in Melbourne is stone-washed with no harsh dyes or chemicals to achieve optimum softness and comfort as you sleep. Our Waverly Mills throws from Tasmania are made from upcycled yarn salvaged from Italy that would have ended up in landfill.
We’ve worked hard to make sure guest rooms are Australian-made beautiful, comfortable and welcoming. Towels, robes and slippers, coffee/tea bar, a bar fridge with snacks and a few bathroom essentials complete the package. All you need to do is make yourself comfortable.
Room 1 - King Located at the north end of the guest wing, Room 1 opens onto the northern outdoor lounge and enjoys sweeping views north across the scrub. This room is about enjoying the smells and sounds of a bush sunrise while tucked up in bed with a cup of tea.
Rooms 2 & 3 Queen Located in the middle of the guest wing, Rooms 2 & 3 open onto the western lawn. Follow the gravel path to the outdoor lounge and be surprised by the stunning views across Little Dip Conservation Park. You may bump into the resident wombat who's built a warren on the edge of the lawn.
Room 4 Suite – Super King plus Library Located at the south end of the guest wing, Room 4 is the Library Suite. It’s a huge 2-roomed master retreat or it can be configured to comfortably sleep 4 with a Queen in the Library. Bury yourself in a book and enjoy the stunning views south along the dune skyline.
In colours inspired by the seaweed reefs of Stony Rise beach, our bathrooms feature beautiful Nood Co Concrete basins as a nod to the concrete stock troughs that once dotted the Triangle Block. Sustainably made in Western Australia, Nood concrete has zero chemicals and our basins are waxed in 100% organic wax. That’s healthy, happy washing in beautiful concrete. We’re all about simplicity and quality.
Our walk-in rainwater showers are made in Adelaide by Consolidated Brass Industry and complete these amazing spaces. We’ve chosen Zero Co for washing and moisturising with irresistibleplanet-friendly bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser that will leave you smelling sweet, super fresh and moisturised. They’re good for you and the planet with no nasty ingredients, phthalates or palm oil. Think bergamot, cucumber, cedarwood with essential oils of mandarin and patchouli. And there’s no need to worry about single-use plastic as Zero Co bottles are made from ocean and beach waste.
Living & Dining
The middle of the Lodge is an open plan living and dining space encased in glass with views north over The Infinity Lawn and south across Little Dip Conservation Park. Sunsets are simply breathtaking. The lounging and dining spaces have a minimalist feel with clean lines and furniture that is beautiful, functional and comfortable. The dining table is hand-made by Agastino and Brown from Australian wormy chestnut and comfortably seats twelve. The stunning bar features Plumm glassware, a Zip Hydro Tap and ice machine. The generous tan leather lounge sits in front of an open fire set in stunning West Australian sandstone.
The Infinity Lawn
The Lodge is a place where summer life is lived outside and our 250 square metre Infinity Lawn is an inviting place for you to eat, drink, play and nap on with a fantastic set of outdoor speakers and a firepit.
Stony Rise Lodge is dog friendly. We love all animals but other pets are to hard to look after in our bush setting.
